Hi, I’m Marcos Mitroglou, the sole author and editor of Elephant in Vancouver. Everything you read on this site comes directly from me—my thoughts, experiences, research, and personal perspective as a longtime journalist and a proud resident of this beautiful city.
Independence & Integrity
I write independently, without influence from advertisers, sponsors, or outside organizations. My opinions are my own, and I do not accept payment or favors in exchange for positive coverage.
If I ever feature a product, place, or service, it’s because I believe it’s worth writing about, not because someone asked me to.
I approach every topic with journalistic integrity. That means striving for accuracy, being transparent about my sources, and correcting errors if they occur.
While this blog often includes personal reflections, I always aim to distinguish between fact and opinion.
Transparency & Disclosures
When applicable, I will disclose:
- If I’ve been gifted a product, service, or experience
- If I have any personal or financial connection to what I’m writing about
- Any potential conflicts of interest
I believe transparency builds trust, and trust is the foundation of good journalism—even on a personal blog.
Content Standards
The stories I share are intended to inform, reflect, and occasionally entertain. I aim to:
- Write respectfully about individuals, communities, and cultures
- Avoid sensationalism or misleading headlines
- Fact-check to the best of my ability
- Update posts if information changes over time
If you spot an error or feel something I’ve written is unfair or inaccurate, I welcome your feedback.
Comments & Community
I currently don’t host a comment section on the site, but I love hearing from readers. You’re welcome to get in touch via the contact form or email. I read every message, and while I may not be able to respond to all, I genuinely appreciate your input.
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Writing honestly and responsibly is something I take seriously, and I’m grateful you’re here.
